ARTS PROGRAMS
Our School Arts Program is designed as a comprehensive co-curricular arts package to encourage learning and appreciation of theperforming and fine arts.
We provide courses in art, dance, drama and music.
ART
Painting/Drawing In this course we use different methods to inspire children’s creativity. Inspiration is taken from their environment and everyday life, such as animals, schools, the local park, friends and more traditional techniques such as classical methods of exploring still nature and life models.
Sculpture By using everyday materials children create different shapes and forms which they can take home or exhibit at school showings.
DRAMA
Drama classes consist of simple drama games and exercises which support children’s learning in an enjoyable way. They encourage and help children to develop communications skills, speaking and listening skills, cognitive abilities, team work, concentration, spatial awareness amongst many others.
MUSIC
Keyboard/Piano** course provides the foundation techniques for beginners. In particular, they learn to read an understand music. Children learn to play their favourite TV, film, classical or pop songs. They have the opportunity to play individually or as a group.
Singing lessons are highly popular and children are trained by a professional coach. During our course students learn different voice, posture, breathing and projection. Singing is taught individually or as a chorus group.
DJ
DJ’ing is a new art form and extremely popular among young people. Our course is led by a professional DJ who brings the latest techniques, grooves and moves. These classes give children an opportunity to explore, understand and create their own piece of music.
All courses consist of 10 x 1 hour lessons per school term. One class per week (subject to flexibility) Enrolments take place throughout the year and student numbers are restricted to 15-20 students per class. Lessons take place during or after school time on school premises.
*For all Ballet and Tap classes children have to bring their own uniforms.
